School Box Africa deploys AI-powered vocational education hubs inside repurposed shipping containers. Each unit runs entirely off-grid on solar power and Starlink satellite internet, with AI tutor stations that adapt to every learner in real time — no teacher required.
Field Notes is where we write openly about that work: what we are building, what we are learning on the ground, and where we are headed.
What we are building
Each School Box is a self-contained classroom that needs no existing infrastructure. Inside are AI-powered learning stations running a sequential curriculum with quizzes, progress tracking, and a student login system that collects real learning data. Our first course is agriculture — a live prototype currently in testing — but because the platform is built on the internet's entire knowledge base, any subject can be taught.
