01AI-Driven Vocational Education

AI powered portable classrooms designed to work everywhere.

School Box Africa deploys AI-powered vocational education hubs inside repurposed shipping containers — creating skilled workers and entrepreneurs wherever opportunity is scarce. Starting in Zambia. Scaling worldwide.

Inside a School Box unit — AI-powered learning stations

02The Product

A classroom with no limits.

Each School Box runs entirely off-grid via solar power and Starlink satellite. Inside: AI-powered learning stations with an AI tutor that adapts to each student in real time — no teacher required. We launched with an agriculture course, but because the platform is built on top of the internet's entire knowledge base, any subject can be taught. The curriculum is unlimited.

  • AI tutor embedded in every lesson
  • Sequential curriculum with quizzes and progress tracking
  • Student login system — collecting real learning data to support grant applications
  • Zero dependency on local infrastructure

03The Team

Built by engineers.
Driven by purpose.

Ilae Kravine

Co-founder

AI engineer and electrical systems builder with a background in robotics and drone development. Ilae designed the School Box concept after witnessing first-hand the technology gap in sub-Saharan Africa.

Jessica Pliskin

Co-founder

MSc Physics. Jessica leads partnerships and stakeholder relations — securing relationships with the Zambian government, UK-based AI companies, and international charity networks that underpin SBA's deployment strategy.

Edwadi Owanadaran

Co-founder

Former Zambian parliamentarian with deep roots in government and civil society. Edwadi provides in-country political access and connects SBA to AfriLabs, Africa's largest network of innovation hubs.

Country Director Program

Local leadership.
Continent-wide reach.

School Box Africa is building a network of Country Directors — senior in-country leaders who represent SBA nationally and open the path to deployment: securing government endorsement, building institutional partnerships, and unlocking local funding. The program already reaches beyond Zambia into Ethiopia, Botswana, and South Africa, turning SBA from a single-country prototype into a scalable, multi-country platform for AI-driven education.

Liyuneh Tamirat Dessalegn

Liyuneh Tamirat Dessalegn

Country Director — Ethiopia

A youth leader and civic advocate known for motivational and community work across Ethiopia, including leadership within the Concerned Generation Movement. Liyuneh drives SBA's national engagement — building the government and institutional relationships that open the path to deployment.

04The Technology

AI courses. Ruggedised hardware.
Vocational outcomes.

Each unit ships with AI-powered kiosk stations, industrial-grade hardware, and a growing library of vocational course modules. The system is modular — new subjects drop in without hardware changes.

Agriculture

8-chapter foundational course. Botany, agronomy, troubleshooting. Live prototype.

Electronics

Circuit theory to applied repair. In development.

Engineering

Mechanical and fabrication fundamentals. In development.

05Phase One

Starting in Zambia.
Scaling across the whole world.

Zambia is where the School Box concept was born — a country with deep agricultural roots, a young workforce, and a significant gap in accessible training. SBA is registered in Zambia via PACRA and has engaged directly with government ministers on the ground. Our education software was built entirely in-house and the agricultural course prototype is live and currently being tested. We operate with a 50-year financial model.

06Infrastructure-Independent

Off-grid by design.
Not by compromise.

Sub-Saharan Africa has 600 million people without reliable electricity. School Box Africa runs on solar power and Starlink satellite — deliberately engineered so that no existing infrastructure is required. Built locally in Zambia, not imported.
